A while ago Goodreads posted the question,
"If you could only read one book for the rest of your life (but could read it as many times as you want), what would it be?"
Favourite Book. Ian Wilson. Flickr. 2006. Web. 10/22/13.
A long time favourite for me would be The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. I am a bit biased toward good novels set in Africa. But it is also a suspenseful epic of one family's tragic experience in post colonial Africa. I like the flavour the multiple narrators add as well. (Dolphin)
This is an easy one. For me, it would have to be Hamlet by Shakespeare. I've read it dozens of times (and I really mean that) and it never gets stale. In fact, I read a book this weekend about the play that offered a new and unusual interpretation of the play. Now I'm looking forward to reading it again with this new perspective. Ah, Shakespeare. How did he do it?!
The serpents shadow by Rick Riordan! I like all the ideas of magic and Egyptian gods. Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins! Go Dolphins!
I would choose Cookie by Jacqueline Wilson. I've read this book when I was very young, and I still find it quite cute and fun to read. It makes me feel a little happier and prettier when I'm feeling down. -Taimu (Sunbears!)
Mine is the Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brain Selznick since I can always look deeper into the pictures and have more connections to the story. It's also a big book so it takes a while to read everything carefully even though it's full of pictures...with meaning. Sunbears..yay.
I'd have to say Cherry Crush by Cathy Cassidy, I found the book in the library of my old school and I was completely submerged into the story. I love realistic fiction, Cathy Cassidy had written young children's problems of life changes, family troubles and new love into her books and I really admire her style, i had read that book 6 times in 2 days! :D Go sunbears!~ -Socheata C
My favourite book would be the Yu-Gi-Oh mangas because they have really detailed art and has an amazing storyline which never gets old. Go Dolphins (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻ :)
The Ersatz Elevator, the 6th book from Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events. The series made me love reading and the 6th book just happens to be my favorite. Yay dolphins! -Neary
Currently it is "The Fault in Our Stars" by John Green, because it is beautifully written, and it completely changed my perception of life. -Neelima. (Go sunbears!)
My favorite book is "To Kill a Mockingbird". I've read it about six times -- love the story, the point of view and the the idea that you never really understand a man until you get inside his shoes and walk around for awhile! Go Sunbears!!!
One of my favourite childhood books that I would still enjoy if I read it over and over again as an adult is The Giver by Lois Lowry. There are so many aspects of it that make me think about it long after I've finished it. And every time I read it I catch something I didn't before and start my wondering and thinking anew. (Dolphins!)
It's not my absolute all-time favorite, but I absolutely enjoyed The Wednesday Wars by Gary D. Schmidt. It's got the comedy, the history (American, during the war in Vietnam period), and the demons of school and teachers. Recommended for any Grade 6-8 student, or even some of us older kids.
I would choose Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K.Rowling because it is has the perfect amount of adventure and makes me want to keep reading.
I would say A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier by Ishmael Beah, it really shows reality within words better than most other books I have read. Go Tigers! (⎠• 3 •)⎠
The book that I would read over and over again is a russian book "Vita Maleev at home and at school" by russian writer Nicolai Nosov. It is very interesting and funny. I would recommend it to all grade 6-8 students.
Ugh I'm not sure... there are so many good books! But I think if I really had to read one over and over again it would probably be Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I've already read it like three times, and every time there are these different layers to the story I didn't even think about the last time I read the book. It's a really good ending to the story. So GO JK ROWLING! GO TIGERS AND GO GO GRYFFINDOR!!!
My book is such an enjoyable book to read. I could read over and over. This hilarious book is titled Diary of a Wimpy Kid 4, written by Jeff Kinney @@@(:Tigers:)@@@
I would read ''How to Survive Middle School by Donna Gephart'', I enjoyed the story and although I'm not much of a reader i would still read this book. -Joash Van Beers (TIGERS) ( ´ ▽ ` )b
If I had to choose a book that I could read, it would be Ender's Game by Oscar Scott Card. The book is absolutely phenomenal and the amazing twist at the end always gets me.
I will bring the book "The Alchemist " by Paulo Coelho. Never forget your dreams and go out to get them bravely. Because 'when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.' ( Tiger)
The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. Atwood at her best, with something new to notice each time you read it, and a world that almost becomes the reader's world, if only for a while. (White Elephants)
If I could only read one book for the rest of my life it would be Matilda by Roald Dahl. I love this book. It's very detailed and it has a playful side to it. I'm in Red Tigers
